The after grip aera

Grip had been my CD encoding application for many many years. However, Ubuntu decided to drop this stable, non-buggy encoder from their repository on the means, that no development had been made since 2 years or so. Time to look for an alternative, also because Ubuntus default CD encoding application produces low-quality MP3 files.

abcde is a console based CD encoder. You can either specify your settings as command line options or use config files. Here you can find preconfigured files for your taste, I am using the MP3 configuration with only one change on the directory setting.

Asunder seems to provide an easy GUI like Grip, and also uses lame directly and not using the buggy gstreamer-lame plug-in.

However, now I need to test both and provide some help to use them. So, stay tuned.
